STRONG QUAKE SHAKES NEW ZEALAND'S NORTH ISLAND

A powerful earthquake hit New Zealand's North Island early this morning, triggering widespread damage. The quake had a magnitude of around 6.8, and was detected as far as Christchurch. Emergency are now investigating the extent of harm and reacting to calls from people. Initial indications suggest that there have been some wounds, but it is unkno
